Lewis’s Story
"I felt supported and my self-belief started to increase"Lewis | Hull
In the Beginning….
When I first enrolled on the Inspire Programme with Working for Health, I had low confidence and no direction in life.
Previously I’d been employed within the catering industry, working at MKM Stadium, covering Hull City and Hull FC games. Since leaving this role, my mental health had declined, and I felt lost and alone. Battling my emotions was a daily struggle and I began to isolate myself from the outside world. The more alone I became, the more I started to question myself in all areas of my life.
How we helped you….
Before my first appointment I was extremely nervous and anxious, but the Working for Health staff made me feel instantly at ease. I sat with my Work Coach and spoke at length about how I was feeling and how I would like to move forward on the Inspire programme.
Over the course of the next two sessions, we set goals and targets that were realistic and appropriate for my ongoing journey. I felt supported and my self-belief started to increase with every meeting. I could feel my overall mental health improving and am now starting to believe in myself and my ability to find suitable and sustainable employment.
The future….
My future is looking very different to how it had previously. With the continued help from my Inspire Work Coach, I am starting a volunteering role with SENSE which is an incredible step forward in my ongoing personal development.
Alongside this I am building up my skills and knowledge with a Level 2 Customer Service and Retail course.
